JUNE - SEPTEMBER 2018
this summer holiday (if i can call it a holiday) has been devoted to practising a new drawing technique. i kept looking back at classic illustrations. in the days where most of those images where etchings and prints in black and white. i was thinking that even tho they were so simple and delicate, they still portrayed the characters in the stories so vividly. so that is what inspired me to try creating my own designs with the same intentions.
i started looking online at tattoo designs because in most work, the artists begin with simple black outlines before they are coloured or shaded in. turns out there is a whole new range of modern art work based on line and geometric shapes. perfect for a researches point of view and great for an illustrator to be jealous of.
